Youth programs include a Junior Police Academy that is specifically targeted to school-age children and an Explorer program that targets high school students. Both programs utilize the Round Rock Police Department’s officers to conduct the program either at the school, the police department, or training facilities. The Round Rock Police Foundation serves to assist with raising the funds needed to provide the equipment and resources used by the campers and officers during these programs. These programs serve to allow the participating students the opportunity to experience positive interaction with police officers, and in turn take that same positive experience back to their respective communities.
