Senior Programs
The Foundation’s Senior Programs include numerous initiatives created to ensure that city’s seniors are safe. Programs that support seniors in the community include SALT (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together), TAP (Telephone Assurance Program), and Chaplain Services. SALT partners senior citizens in the community with law enforcement officers. TAP supports volunteers who make daily telephone calls to check on the welfare of seniors and disabled citizens in the community. Chaplain Services provide emotional and spiritual counsel for department personnel and crime victims. There is also a Lock Box Program that is designed to give emergency workers a quick way to gain entry to the homes of seniors who are at a high risk of needing assistance. Senior Programs are conducted year-round in the City of Round Rock. The Round Rock Police Foundation serves to assist with raising the funds needed to provide the equipment and resources used by the volunteers and officers participating in these programs.
