Victim Services
Victim Services staff, and trained volunteers, provide crisis intervention, offer support and resources to victims of crime. These crimes include domestic violence, sexual assault, assault, robbery, and homicide. Often, victims have immediate financial needs to secure safe temporary housing, a meal, or transportation to remain safe.
The Round Rock Police Foundation provides financial support for RRPD Victim Services. In 1989 the Texas Legislature provided mandates for law enforcement victim services personnel but there were no mandates for monies to provide services. Victim Services advocates have relied on community-based agencies to provide prompt financial assistance. The financial support, through the RRPF, assists with gaps in services for victims until nonprofits and state provisions can provide long-term assistance.
